We’re totally excited because we’ve got some big things in the pipeline for the Our World group, and some really fun sessions to look forward to!
First of all we’d like to say a warm welcome to Robin, who’s joining us for a few months and will be working with Rachael to deliver the Our World sessions. He’s already proved an invaluable asset, helping to design fun sessions, reach more young people, and bring in guest speakers!
So our first session of the year last week kicked us off to a great start. There were lots of faces both new and old, yummy pizzas, exciting information about marine biology, and a wonderful guest speaker Alejandra, who’s a biologist herself!
In our next session, Monday 5th February, we’ll be welcoming Claudi, who’s coming to talk to us about how we can all get one step closer to living plastic free lives.
We’ve also got a great opportunity coming up on the 13th of February, from 2.30pm onwards, where we’ll be meeting with some students from Bath Spa University who will be working with us to help design our very own media campaign! This session is open to everyone, please come along if you think it sounds interesting, we’d certainly love your input.
We’ve also got 8 free tickets for young people who’d like to go and attend a talk by George Monbiot at the Yellow Lighted Bookshop in Nailsworth on the 14th of March, at 7pm. George Monbiot explains how new findings in psychology, neuroscience and evolutionary biology cast human nature in a radically different light.
Our World sessions will continue to run throughout the coming months, with one session every other Monday, from 6.30 – 9pm, at our workspace in Fromehall Mill in Stroud.
Anyone is welcome as long as you’re over 13, and you don’t need to worry about paying anything as the sessions are totally free.
Our World dates coming up are:
13th February – Media Campaign Meeting
14th March – George Monbiot Talk
