Re Connect befriending has been busy as usual. We ran a nature based art group for people affected by stroke, aphasia and their carers which was a great success. NHS England came to film us as an excellent example of the benefits of peer support within the community. The film will be used as a training and information resource for GPs, stroke clinicians, patients etc. You can watch it at
We are currently exploring funding options to make this a regular on-going group.
We would like to offer more people the opportunity to join our team of befrienders. If you or a loved one have been affected by a long term health condition and would like to be supported to get out and meet others, make a real difference to the lives of people isolated by their condition and be a valued member of the Re Connect team then please contact Coryn at firstname.lastname@example.org 0747 999 9919, or Louise at email@example.com 07852 458909
In May we celebrated starting our new 3 year NHS contract with a tea party and accessible badminton and bowls. Lot’s of fun was had!
